<p><em>The cutest robot I&#8217;ve ever meet, even though he was rejecting me&#8230; luckily that was a part of the Influencia concept.</em></p>
<p>My boyfriend and his classmates at MA Interactive Media are now celebrating their titles as MA&#8217;s. Well, I thought I could contribute by adding these photos from their degree show last week. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the private view, but that only meant that I had more time by my own to study their projects.</p>

Three weeks to go before the deadline is here, and I have to finish in time before the paper is sent for proofreading next week. At this stage I&#8217;m writing up the findings, and I&#8217;m glad that the survey and the interview I had with August Media really gave me some new discoveries. To be continued! Meanwhile, I hope you&#8217;re enjoying your weekend, maybe with more relaxing activities?</p>

<p>My boyfriend is about to finish his MA in Interactive Media at <a href="http://www.lcc.arts.ac.uk/">London College of Communication</a>, and next week he and his classmates are inviting everybody to their degree show at the university. The show will present all the six interactive major projects that have been created over a 12 week period. I can guarantee that the show has required a lot of working hours, after observing my better half working night and day. I&#8217;m proud!</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been user testing two of the projects already, in order to give feedback to the producers. Last week I learned first aid from the team behind &#8216;Aidapp&#8217;, and today I tested the &#8216;Influencia&#8217; installation – which allowed my to play with robots!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m really looking forward to seeing the finished projects the 8.–10. September 2010.</p>

<p><em>Stonehenge, quite a dramatical experience. What a place!</em></p>
<p>We used the Bank Holiday for renting a car and hit the English motorways. On the left side. And when I say we, I mean myself, Aina and Dorien.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-641" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-641" title="bath" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/bath.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-641" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath/"></a><em>Stonehenge seen from the car, seems quite small, but that is just in distance. </em></p>
<p>The first stop was Stonehenge, the mysterious place that nobody knows the story behind. It&#8217;s located in the county of Wiltshire, just a couple of hours drive from London (and that includes a coffee stop along the road). Stonehenge is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones, and some believe that it was built as early as 3000 BC. A must to visit if you&#8217;re on the roads in England, and now I can tick of that historical box&#8230;</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-644" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath_2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-644" title="bath_2" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/bath_2.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="489" /></a></p>
<p>The next stop on the route was Bath, another historical place that brits are quite proud of. It&#8217;s located in the county of Sommerset, 156 km west of London. Bath was actually first established as a spa resort by the Romans in AD 43, and that&#8217;s the reason behind the unusual name. The Romans built Baths and a temple on the surrounding hills of Bath in the valley of the River Avon around hot springs. The population of the city is now nearly 84,000.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-642" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath_4/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-642" title="bath_4" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/bath_4.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>It is easy to see the Roman influence in these buildings. The pictures are from The Circus, in the middle of the city. </em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-645" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath_1/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-645" title="bath_1" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/bath_1.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>We were blessed with a blue sky!</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-643" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/31/roadtrip/bath_3/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-643" title="bath_3" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/bath_3.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p>The day ended in the small village called Salisbury on the way home to London – and had dinner (at a pub, of course&#8230; meal deal) Quite pleased, seeing two World Heritage Sites in one day (the pub was not included, but OK, let&#8217;s say it&#8217;s on the list over typical English places to go anyway).</p>

<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-629" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_1/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-629" title="camden_1" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_1.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Cute shop</em></p>
<p>A brief description of Camden Market, taken from Wikipedia:</p>
<p>The <strong>Camden Markets</strong> are a number of adjoining large markets in <a title="Camden Town" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camden_Town">Camden Town</a> near the Hampstead Road Lock of the <a title="Regent's Canal" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regent%27s_Canal">Regent&#8217;s Canal</a> (which is usually called <a title="Camden Lock" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camden_Lock">Camden Lock</a>), often called collectively &#8220;Camden Market&#8221; or &#8220;Camden Lock&#8221;. The stalls sell crafts, clothing, bric-a-brac, fast food, and other things. It is the fourth most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend.<span style="font-size: small;"><span> </span></span>A small local food market has operated in Inverness Street since the beginning of the twentieth century (this market lost stalls as local supermarkets opened; as of 2010 this market retains only three fruit and vegetable stalls, which do not open on Sundays, in addition to stalls like those in the other markets). In 1974 a weekly crafts market held every Sunday near Camden Lock was started; a large complex of markets grew from this small beginning. The markets have a mixture of temporary stalls and fixed premises.</p>
<p>The market is full of cute little things, tastes and views. Here are some of the things that we won&#8217;t forget:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-626" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_4/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-626" title="camden_4" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_4.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Scrabble rings? Find a word with ten letters&#8230;</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-625" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_5/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-625" title="camden_5" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_5.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>The cupcake icing probably looks better than it tastes.</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-624" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_6/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-624" title="camden_6" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_6.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>London Calling!</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-623" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_7/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-623" title="camden_7" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_7.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>Hi there! I&#8217;m a Russian doll, or, actually, I&#8217;m a bit confused, am I a pillow?</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-627" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_3/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-627" title="camden_3" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_3.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>Aina fell in love with these rose rings.</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-622" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_8/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-622" title="camden_8" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_8.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>Want a fish massage? (I have a feeling that these little creepy ones bite you, and it may tickle?)</em></p>
<p><em><a rel="attachment wp-att-628" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/30/camden-market/camden_2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-628" title="camden_2" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/camden_2.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></em></p>

<p><strong>Hope your weekend was full of peculiar things like this as well&#8230;</strong></p>

<p>In January I was very lucky to assist my friend Tracy in a photoshoot in Paris. In addition to studying publishing with me, Tracy works as a stylist for Haper&#8217;s Bazaar Hong Kong. The photos were taken for the &#8216;men supplement&#8217; magazine of Harper&#8217;s Bazaar that came with the spring/summer issue, but I haven&#8217;t got hold of it before now. Finally it has travelled the long way from Hong Kong to London – and is in my hands right now!</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-606" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_1/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-606" title="harpers_1" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_1.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Rockabilly Paris!</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-605" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-605" title="harpers_2" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_2.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>The photoshoot was done in one day, but divided in two: outdoors photos and studio photos.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-604" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_3/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-604" title="harpers_3" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_3.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>This is my favourite spreadsheet from the outdoors photos, makes me want to go to Paris again&#8230; It was a bit freezing for the model to pretend it was summer in January, but he managed.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-602" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_5/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-602" title="harpers_5" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_5.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Summer Sensation.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-601" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_6/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-601" title="harpers_6" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_6.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>I like the photographers white style and the &#8216;fading&#8217; photos in the background.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-600" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_7/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-600" title="harpers_7" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_7.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Nice.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-599" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_8/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-599" title="harpers_8" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_8.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>And the model is pretty, of course.</em></p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-598" href="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/2010/08/26/kathrin-for-harpers-bazaar/harpers_9/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-598" title="harpers_9" src="http://blog.kathrinmyrvang.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/harpers_9.jpg" alt="" width="700" height="467" /></a></p>
<p><em>Excited to see my byline here, and very thankful for being invited to the capital of beauty!<br />
</em><em>Good work by photographer Jo Moriyama and the stylist Tracy On. </em></p>
<p><strong>Which one is your favourite?</strong></p>
